Overview

Operate and trouble shoot production filler lines at a standard level or above. Monitor label placement, weight measurements and torque pressure periodically. Manually record daily production and any possible down time. Assist coworkers at material handling and palletizing of finished good product.

Responsibilities

  • Arrange for necessary tools to perform job.
  • Insure all safety devices are in place and operational.
  • Verify received components against MOS.
  • Verify label position, torque, fill height and against specs by running test pieces.
  • Operate filling equipment and machinery.
  • At specific intervals evaluate line samples for various attributes, fill weight and height, etc.
  • Observe machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction.
  • Trouble shoot and assist in the routine maintenance of filling equipment and machinery.
  • Relieve employees on line when necessary.
  • Accurately complete documentation of work performed in a timely manner.
  • Assist material handlers with set up, stack, mark and pack finished work pieces.
  • Load and unload materials into/from pallets, trays, racks and shelves by hand according to specific block and tier.
  • Ensure proper work order close out.
  • Attach identifying tags/labels to materials or mark information on cases, bales and other containers.
  • Verify and complete line clearance.
  • Follow all Safety guidelines and policies, follow GMP’s related to personal hygiene and handling of material.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
  • Ability to use instruments and measure.

WORKING CONDITIONS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 lbs.
While this position will primarily work in an office environment, travel, including overnight (approx. 30 %) may be required to attend company events, staff meetings, training sessions, customer meetings and/or industry or vendor trade shows.
May be required to utilize personal vehicle for business travel that may result in long periods of sitting. Must maintain a valid driver license with a driving record that meets Company minimum standards and maintain current automobile insurance coverage as set forth by Sysco.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Overtime work may be required depending on business needs.
