    The Opportunity

    This is a unique opportunity to join a growing and dynamic company whose strategic business initiatives have propelled it to the forefront of the Travel & Leisure industry.  As a member of the Guest Supply leadership team, the Senior Director of Sales role reports to the VP of Field Sales and directly impacts business strategy, performance, and the development and performance of all sales management and sales associates in the assigned market.  This role provides leadership, strategic planning, and works jointly with sales personnel to execute flawlessly, ultimately increasing market share and sales revenue through current and new client acquisition.  The growth opportunity in Canada would include expanding the current product offering in the Canadian market to drive increased market share and account penetration.

    Responsibilities

    • The Senior Director of Sales position is responsible for growing the company’s revenue, profit, and market share in the Travel & Leisure industry for the Canadian Market.
    • This position will collaborate and partner with the other functional leaders of the Canadian operation to deliver revenue and profit expectations in this market.
    • The assigned market consists of a team of Territory Managers who call directly on hospitality and lodging customer personnel to sell a portfolio of products that enhance the guest experience, such as personal care products, sheets, pillows, paper & cleaning products, etc.
    • This positon will also oversee the development of national brand customers and large management groups.
    • The Senior Director of Sales is responsible for developing the sales strategy and business plan for the market to ensure attainment of company goals. The plan should include, but is not limited to, the following:
      • Identify market opportunities, assess competitive threats, and develop actions to allow goals to be achieved
      • Develop sales initiatives, objectives, forecasts, and goals by fiscal year, quarter, product line, and hotel brand
      • Execute actions to deliver goals and penetrate customers & markets
      • Manage staffing requirements, including recruitment, training, and assigned accounts & locations
      • Scorecard results and refine actions. Present results on a quarterly basis to the Canadian staff as well as Executive leadership
      • Partner with Territory Managers and Corporate Accounts to make joint calls on key selling opportunities to execute the overall sales plan
      • Develop and set market pricing for the products being sold throughout Canada
    • Talent Management – Spearhead the recruitment, motivation, and development of the sales team and instill a culture of accountability, performance based management, teamwork to achieve the goals
    • Lead and facilitate change management in support of organizational goals

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor degree with concentration in Sales, Marketing or Business Administration or commensurate experience
    • This position is based in our Toronto office and the leader must reside in the surrounding area.
    • Knowledge and experience with importing rules and regulations along with foreign exchange rate impact and planning
    • Must have prior leadership experience. Experience managing leaders of people is a plus.
    • Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and professional interactive skills, as well as strong presentation, negotiation, closing and time management skills. 
    • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to build, grow and inspire individuals and teams and manage effectively up, down and across an organization.
    • Collaborative management style. Work alongside individual team members as a day-to-day partner in moving the business forward, holding teams accountable for forecasts and other sales objectives.
    • Well-developed strategic planning, business and financial management skills (i.e., pricing, forecasting, budget planning).
    • Understanding of the most sophisticated and progressive sales approaches currently in use by B2B oriented companies that distribute via direct channels of distribution. Experience with large/national accounts a plus.
    • Fact-based decision making style and the type of senior executive who comes to the table with a pragmatic view of the marketplace and the opportunities within it, but who also recommends solutions at both a strategic and functional level.
    • A mastery of organizational and project management skills, including the ability to plan, prioritize and execute multiple initiatives/deadlines autonomously and shift priorities as necessary. Able to manage large, complex projects. Uses time effectively. 
    • Customer Service – Respond promptly to customer needs. Solicit customer feedback to improve service.
    • Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner. Gathers and analyzes information skillfully. Develops alternative solutions. 
    • Judgment - Displays willingness to make decisions. Exhibits sound and accurate judgment. Makes timely decisions.
    • Computer literacy that includes maintain a customer database, Internet navigation and use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook). 
    • Familiarity with PeopleSoft and Salesforce.com or equivalent software
    • Ability to speak French would be a plus
